Deidre Sklar (PhD, GCFP) is a Feldenkrais practitioner. She is a retired dance ethnographer and performance scholar, theatre performer and director. The author of Dancing with the Virgin: Body and Faith in the Fiesta of Tortugas, New Mexico, she was the recipient of CORD’s 2014 award for Outstanding Scholarly Research in Dance.  Deidre has taught at the University of California, Irvine, Texas Women’s University, UCLA and Oberlin, and has published numerous scholarly articles. She teaches Feldenkrais from her loft in Carpinteria, California.
